#DayItForward This Leap Day

#Dayitforward

What will you do with an extra 24 hours? Leap Day only happens once every four years, and this year we are supporting our partner Chevrolet in the “Day it Forward” campaign, a way to encourage people to use the extra 24 hours in the month to do something nice for another person.

Whether you buy a cup of coffee for the person behind you in line, donate food to a local pantry or become certified in CPR to know how to save a life, #DayItForward is about making the world a better place for everyone.

Safe Kids staffers are joining in the campaign by learning how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). AEDs are used to rescue a person suffering from cardiac arrest. As a part of Safe Kids’ work around making sports safer for kids, we encourage parents to make sure an AED is on hand during practices and games. We want to be able to use one if a person is not responsive, not breathing and does not have a pulse. Knowing how to use in AED could save a life and we plan to pick up this skill in honor of the #DayitForward campaign.

What can you do to make someone’s life better on Leap Day? Let us know how you plan to give back by tweeting your good deed using the hashtag #DayitForward.
