Children's Product Recalls - June 2019

This recall report contains toddlers’ rain boots with small parts which can detach and pose a choking hazard, and children’s sleepwear that violate federal flammability standards. June 27, 2019 CPSC; Gillette recalls its Venus Simply3 Disposable razors because a manufacturing problem resulted in blade misalignment, posing a laceration hazard. Units: About 87,000 (an additional 2,700 sold in Canada).

June 27, 2019 CPSC; BRP recalls its Sea-Doo marine coolers because the cooler latch can automatically lock when the lid is closed, allowing a person to become locked inside and posing entrapment and suffocation hazards. Units: About 2,500.

June 27, 2019 CPSC; Apple recalls its 15-inch MacBook Pro laptop computers because the batteries can overheat, posing a fire hazard. Units: About 432,000 (an additional 26,000 sold in Canada).

June 27, 2019 CPSC; Fisher-Price recalls inclined sleeper accessories included with all models of its Ultra-Lite Day & Night Play Yards because infant fatalities have been reported while using other inclined sleep products. Units: About 71,000.

June 26, 2019 CPSC; Patriot Pyrotechnics/Bill’s Fireworks recalls multiple models of its fireworks, sold exclusively at Patriot Pyrotechnics because they are overloaded with pyrotechnics in violation of the federal regulatory standard, posing explosion and burn hazards to consumers. Units: About 11,000.

June 26, 2019 CPSC; Keystone recalls its G-Force Fireworks because they are overloaded with pyrotechnics in violation of the federal regulatory standard, posing explosion and burn hazards to consumers. The fireworks are banned hazardous substances and are prohibited from being sold under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. Units: About 1,660.

June 25, 2019 CPSC; West Marine recalls its Deck Chairs and Comfort Plus Deck Chairs because the lock nut connecting the arm rest to the chair can loosen, posing fall and injury hazards to the user. Units: About 11,600.

June 20, 2019, CPSC; Hunter Fan recalls its Brunswick three and four light ceiling fans because the light kit wires can be damaged, posing an electric shock hazard to consumers. Units: About 7,800.

June 18, 2019, CPSC; Home Meridian recalls its Copeland Corner Curio Cabinets, sold exclusively at Harvertys, because they are unstable if not anchored to a wall, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or injuries to children. Units: About 520.

June 13, 2019, CPSC; American Honda is recalling its 2016-2019 Honda Pioneer 1000 recreational off-highway vehicles because the throttle pedal can stick in the open position, posing crash and injury hazards. Units: About 82,000.

June 12, 2019, CPSC; Hayward recalls its H500FD gas pool heater vent kit because it can fail and emit carbon monoxide, posing a CO poisoning hazard. Units: About 280 (including Mexico and Canada).

June 11, 2019 CPSC; Target recalls its Cat & Jack “Lilia” toddlers’ unicorn rain boots, sizes 5-12, because the unicorn’s horn can separate, posing a choking hazard. Units: 29,000. 

June 11, 2019, CPSC; Amazon recalls its AmazonBasics 1500 Watt Ceramic Space Heaters because they can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. Units: About 377,000 (About 18,000 sold in Canada and 3,765 in Mexico).

June 11, 2019, CPSC; Cushy Form recalls its folding mattresses, sold exclusively at Amazon, because they fail to meet the federal flammability standard for mattresses, posing a fire hazard. Units: About 2,300.

June 6, 2019, CPSC; Xtreme Outdoors recalls its XOP climbing sticks used to climb trees because a bolt can fail, posing a fall hazard and risk of serious injury. Units: About 1,165.

June 5, 2019, CPSC; Apple recalls its Apple AC World Travel Adapter Kits for international use because the three-prong AC wall plug adapter can break and expose the metal portion of the adapter, posing an electric shock risk. Units: About 814,000 (about 81,000 sold in Canada).

June 4, 2019, CPSC; Polaris recalls its 2015-2019 RGR EV recreational off-highway vehicles because an incorrectly wired chassis harness can cause the vehicle to accelerate unexpectedly, posing a crash hazard. Units: About 3900.

June 4, 2019, CPSC; Polaris recalls its RZR XP 4 Turbo S recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs) because the brakes can fail, posing crash and injury hazards (This recall was first announced in January by the company independently because of the government furlough).

June 4, 2019, CPSC; Generation Brands recalls its glass pendant light fixtures because the fixtures can detach from their electrical cord, causing the fixture to fall unexpectedly, posing a risk of injury from impact. Units: About 1,200 (30 sold in Canada).
